The 23rd International Marconi Day will occur on 24 April with amateur radio stations set up at historic Marconi sites.

The event run by the Cornish Radio Club has stations registered in Australia, Canada, Europe, South America and the USA.

The only Asia-Pacific region station is VK2IMD to be operated by the Hornsby Districts Radio Club at Wahroonga where Ernest Fisk received the first wireless message from the United Kingdom.

These are so called 'award stations' and contact with them qualify for an excellent award certificate.

All participating stations will be at sites that either used Marconi equipment prior to his death in 1937 or from which Marconi carried out experiments.

The list and more details about IMD is at: www.gb4imd.org.uk
