Dual-Band Slim Jim for Satellites

The old faithful Slim Jim antenna has been put to the test on orbiting amateur radio satellites operating on the 145/435 MHz bands.

Lars Thunberg SM0TGU writing in the AMSAT-SM publication used a commercially made N9TAX dual band antenna and found it can be used on satellite work.

He says in passages below 30 degrees elevation it works great, but at a little higher elevation the signals are pretty quick weaker and disappear completely at times.
