Tin can WiFi booster

To extend the range of wireless devices the do-your-self tin can option fitted with the necessary components is the way to go. The DIY cheap option to increase the distance of WiFi is catching on.

Heart of the antenna is a food, juice or other similar round metallic container, and a few readily available components to make it work. Those already into the activity have reported success with all types, but the trick is that the can must be long to make a good antenna. Using formulae you create a 1/4 guide wavelength with the radiating stub the right distance from the bottom end of the can.
